ResMed AirSense 10 vs. AirSense 11: the differences

The AirSense 11 is the successor of the AirSense 10. Both work in the same pressure range – but they differ in operation, data transfer and, above all, accessories.

What they have in common

Both series are available as CPAP (Elite) and auto-CPAP (AutoSet). The pressure range is 4 to 20 cm H₂O on both, and both have an integrated humidifier with a 380 ml water tub as well as comfort functions such as ramp and EPR.

The main differences

  • Launch: AirSense 10 in 2014, AirSense 11 in 2021.
  • Operation: AirSense 10 with dial and display; AirSense 11 with colour touchscreen.
  • “For Her”: separate model AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her; on the AirSense 11 a mode built into the device.
  • Data transfer: AirSense 10 via SD card and, depending on version, a cellular modem; AirSense 11 with Bluetooth and cellular, app connection, over-the-air software updates and an SD card slot.
  • Power supply: 90 W (AirSense 10) vs. 65 W (AirSense 11).
  • Water tub: same volume but different design – not interchangeable.
  • Air filter: different size – not interchangeable.
  • Heated tubing: ClimateLineAir for the AirSense 10; ClimateLineAir 11 fits only the 11 series.

Accessories: what fits?

Wrong purchases happen most often with the water tub, filter and heated tubing – these parts are not interchangeable between the two series. For the AirSense 10 we stock, for example, water tubs and SlimLine tubing (15 mm, unheated). More parts are in accessories & masks and spare parts.

Is a used AirSense 10 worth it?

The AirSense 10 has been widely used for years; accessories and spare parts are easy to get, and many people find the dial operation simple. When buying a used AirSense 10, check the operating hours, the technical inspection and the condition of the blower – see our checklist for buying a used CPAP. Tested devices are in our CPAP category.
