What does “technically tested” mean?
This is how we test and reprocess every used device:
- Device record: serial number, hardware and software version, firmware, operating hours and condition before and after service – documented in our workshop system.
- Function test: blower, pressure build-up and sensors; display, controls, error log and hour counter.
- Pressure and flow: measured with a manometer and flow meter – the device must be within the permitted range.
- Vibration and noise: check of vibration level, flow/turbulence noise and mechanical running noise of the blower and the whole device.
- Air path (manifold): cleaned with alcohol and treated with UV light; hard-to-reach air channels are cleaned with steam pressure.
- Blower motor: thoroughly cleaned using our own process – dust-free and without cigarette odour – followed by UV treatment.
- Heater plate: the stainless-steel heater plate is cleaned and polished.
- Housing: cleaned, painted and polished.
- Seal: closed with our guarantee seal.
- Hardware: if necessary we replace the blower (motor), electronic or sensor components.
- On request (extra charge): acoustic optimisation – damping of vibration and operating noise with non-invasive methods, e.g. dampers.
If the guarantee seal is removed or the device is opened by third parties, our voluntary guarantee lapses. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
What to look for when buying a used CPAP
- Operating hours: show how heavily the device has been used. We state them in the shop or on request.
- Motor / blower: the most important wear part. Devices with a new motor are especially popular.
- Humidifier & accessories: water tub, tubing, power supply and mask should fit and be hygienic. We always recommend new masks and tubing.
- Medical settings: your therapy pressure is set by your doctor. We help with operation but never change therapy without a prescription.
Frequently asked questions
Is a used CPAP device hygienic?
Every device is reprocessed component by component (alcohol and UV, steam pressure for hard-to-reach air channels, cleaned blower). Parts with direct breathing-air contact such as mask and tubing should be new.
Do I need a prescription for a CPAP device?
You can buy privately, but device type and settings must always be decided by your doctor or sleep lab.
Which brands do you offer?
Mainly ResMed (AirSense 10, AirCurve 10, S9), plus Philips Respironics and Löwenstein Medical, depending on availability.
Do you ship abroad?
Yes, we ship from Germany to many countries; available shipping options and costs are shown at checkout.
Can I collect the device in person?
Yes, by appointment in Dessau-Roßlau.
We do not replace medical advice. Only change therapy pressure and settings as prescribed by your doctor.
