What is a CPAP device?
A CPAP device is a breathing device that creates a gentle, steady air pressure while you sleep. This keeps the airways open. It is used for sleep apnoea, heavy snoring and breathing pauses at night.
Is it difficult to use?
No. Modern devices are simple, quiet and suitable for everyday use: put on the mask, switch on the device, breathe calmly, sleep.
Is the air pressure unpleasant?
The pressure is gentle. Many devices have a ramp function that slowly increases the pressure and makes falling asleep easier. Your doctor sets the therapy pressure.
The mask presses or leaks. What can I do?
A different mask size, another model or a small adjustment of the headgear often helps. We are happy to help you choose personally.
How long does it take to get used to it?
Most people get used to the therapy within a few days to a few weeks.
My nose or mouth is dry.
A humidifier with water chamber can help. Ask us about the right humidifier for your device.
How do I clean the device and accessories?
Clean the mask with warm water, the tube about once a week, and change filters regularly depending on the type. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Where can I find contents and operating hours?
Contents, operating hours and price are listed on each product page in our shop. If you have questions about a specific device, simply write to us via WhatsApp or e-mail.
What information helps with a service request?
Manufacturer and model, serial number, a short description of the fault (e.g. error message, noise, pressure problem) and, if possible, a photo or video. Please do not send patient data.
What is the difference between CPAP, APAP and BiPAP?
CPAP works with a constant pressure, APAP adjusts the pressure automatically, BiPAP uses two pressure levels for inhaling and exhaling. We are happy to discuss which system suits you.
What do used, refurbished and “with new motor” mean?
Devices in our shop are used or refurbished and were tested before sale. For offers “with new motor” the blower was replaced. Condition, operating hours and contents are listed on each product page.
How hygienic are used devices?
Housing and air path are cleaned, surfaces disinfected and filters replaced. Masks, cushions and tubes are personal hygiene items; we are happy to advise you on suitable new accessories.
Is there a warranty?
The statutory warranty applies. Some offers include an additional guarantee. The conditions are stated on the product page and in our terms and conditions.
Can I return a device?
Consumers have the statutory right of withdrawal. All details are on our returns page at desstronic.de.
Do you ship outside Germany?
Shipping abroad is possible on request. Please contact us via WhatsApp, Telegram or e-mail and we will clarify the details with you personally.
